Parliament on Tuesday passed a non-binding resolution on sexual and reproductive health and rights tabled by the EPP and ECR groups which states that: “The formulation and implementation of policies on sexual and reproductive health and rights and on sex education in schools is a competence of the member states.” The resolution was adopted by 334 votes to 327, with 35 abstentions.

De ruim 1,3 miljoen steunbetuigingen voor het Europees burgerinitiatief Eén van ons zijn een doorn in het oog van de Europese pro-choice lobby. De resolutie van de Portugese socialist Estrela stelt o.m. verregaande liberalisatie van abortus voor. Vanavond wordt over de resolutie in het EP gedebatteerd. Morgen, dinsdag 22 oktober, wordt het instemming gebracht. Als de resolutie wordt aangenomen, wordt de stem van 1,3 miljoen Europeanen gesmoord.

NEW YORK, September 20 (C-FAM) The term “reproductive health” seeped without fanfare into UN language in 1972 when it was adopted by Jose Barzelatto, the inaugural head of WHO’s program on human reproduction.
